William Morris Gallery

Clement Attlee, the Prime Minister, opened the William Morris Gallery in the year 1950. It is defined as the only public museum, which was devoted fully to Arts and crafts of English socialist, William Morris. This gallery is primarily situated at Walthamstow, and it belonged to the family home of Morris from 1848 to 1856. This place is listed under the Grade II sector.

Later, this gallery underwent some of the major redevelopment, and was reopened in the year 2012. On the other hand, it even won the prize for the Museum of the Year, in the year 2013. The gallery is known for illustrating the finest works of Morris’s life and influence. Starting from rugs to carpets, embroidered fabrics and wallpapers, there are so many options available over here.
