London tubes or underground trains are more like Metro links, and the fastest mode of commutation. These underground trains run from 5 am until midnight and operate from Monday to Saturday. It even works on Sunday, but with reduced operating time. Recently, from Saturday 12, 2015, the tube authorities have started a 24-hour tube service on Saturday and Friday nights on Victoria, Jubilee and most parts of Piccadilly. • According to the new fare sheet, from 2nd of January, 2016, charges have changed in single journey tickets and oyster or contactless payment cards, as well. 

• In zone 1, single journey ticket fare for adults is £4.90 and for children, £2.40. In Oyster or contactless card, peak price is £2.40 and the same amount on off peak. 

• The majority of people will travel in two most central zones, 1 and 2, and the prices for adults are £4.90 and £2.40 for children.

How to pay:

You will be able to make payments with the help of Oyster card or contactless cards. Similarly, travelers can further take help of travel cards, to make payments. Contactless cards are standard credit, which supports contactless payment technology. The total cost is calculated at the end of the day. Only a single charge is made to the contactless card account.

Tips for cheap rides:

• If you want to enjoy unlimited travel passes for a particular time, then travelcards are best. Here, you need to make payment once, especially for enjoying short trips. 

• There are some concessions available for the senior community. Visitors are free from senior fares if your age is above 60 years.
