TIER 4 - STUDENT (CHILD) VISA

Tier 4 (Child) Student visa is for students who are under 16 years of age. Students outside from European Economic Area and Switzerland will need to apply for this study visa. This visa is applicable for children who are willing to study at an independent school in United Kingdom.

Students with consent of parents or guardians can apply for this study visa while having an offer of admission for an independent school at United Kingdom. Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies is the major requirement for this visa application which tends to the admission confirmation.

Student will be able to work part time for 10 hours a week if aged 16 years. Student can work as a student union sabbatical officer for upto 2 years, work on a placement as part of the course but not more than 50% time of course time and can work full time during vacations.

Students will not be able to study at a maintained school at United Kingdom, access to public funds, can get into a full time permanent job, can’t initiate a business, can’t work as a doctor or dentist in training, work as a sports person, bring family members in United Kingdom. Parents will need to apply for Parent of Tier 4 (Child) Visa to get into United Kingdom.

Students under 16 can get into a course length up to 6 years and can stay further 4 months after the completion of the course. Students aged 16 or 17 can get into a course length up to 3 years and can stay further 4 months after the completion of the course.

Students should apply for the visa 3 months prior to the course start date and visa processing takes usually 3 weeks’ time. This visa will cost you £322.
