Tier 4 General Student visa is for students who wish to pursue their education in United Kingdom and are over 16 years. A student outside European Economic Area and Switzerland will need to apply for study visa in United Kingdom.
Student must have an offer of admission from United Kingdom University or College to apply for this visa. This visa allows students to study at particular university or college while working as a student union sabbatical officer. Students are allowed to work part time with this visa and working hours will be limited.
Student will not allow to get access to public funds. Students will not be allowed to work as a professional sports person. Students can’t study at a maintained school in United Kingdom with this study visa.
Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies is the major requirement to apply for this visa. An unconditional offer for admission should get offered by the university to make student eligible to apply for this visa. Full time study should be at level 6 at least to make student eligible for student visa.
This visa is extendable and can get switch into different categories as well. A student can extend this visa in case of resitting in exam and applying to higher education. This visa can get switched into work visa further if a graduate gets an offer of sponsorship from an employer.
You can arrive in United Kingdom 1 week before your course start date (6 months course) and 1 month before your long term course start date. You can stay for 6 months more once your long term course is completed. Stay after completion of study depends on study level as well.
Students are allowed to bring dependents and family members with them in United Kingdom. Dependents and family members will need to apply for a visa separately.
