The London Wall

If you want to relive the history, then The London Wall is one such example. It is primarily a defensive wall, which was constructed by the Romans around Londinium, which was their strategic important port town. This wall was maintained till 18th century. At present, The London Wall is the name of the road, which runs along the course of old wall, between the Rotunda Junction and Wornwood Street. It was until the Middle Ages, when the wall defined boundaries of the London City.

As per the history, this wall was built in late 2nd century or in the early 3rd century, between 190 and 225, and most probably from 200 and 220. If you go by the historical tales, then the construction of this wall took place 80 years before the city’s fort. This wall was developed until the end era of 4th century, which makes it the major constructional projects of that time.
