National Gallery

Situated in the Trafalgar Square, National Gallery is mainly defined as an art museum, located in the city of Westminster and in central London. It was founded in the year 1824 and comprises of more than 2300 paintings. It dated back from the middle 13th century to the current 1990. Once you have visited this art museum, you can easily spend hours without getting bored.

This National Gallery was not just formed by nationalization, but it came into being, when the British Government bought nearly 38 paintings from John Julius Angerstein, and in the year 1824. The collection might be small in size, but encyclopedic in scope. None other than William Wilkins, from 1832 to 1838, designed the present building.
