I have a food allergy

Although most of the people around the world think that they have food allergies, it has been found that only five percent of children and four percent of teen have food allergies. Adults hardly have any allergies; they will only have reactions to it. When you are touring to a country like United Kingdom it’s always crucial to be aware of what sort of food could be allergens?

Food allergy is a sort of reaction in the immune system to a food which you are not used to. Even a very little quantity of food could cause symptoms of food allergy.

There are various types of symptoms of food allergy however; the most common out of these symptoms has been hives which cause red swollen itchy areas on the skin of a particular person. Apart from that there are some other symptoms such as vomiting, Sneezing, Slight, dry cough, Odd taste in mouth, Eczema and Itchy mouth. 

Meanwhile, among the severe symptoms are trouble swallowing, turning blue, loss of consciousness, chest pain, and drop in blood pressure and shortness of breath or wheezing.

A research has revealed that cow’s milk cause around three percent of allergies in England with most of them being children. So as a tourist it’s important one is aware of the cow-milk free diet in the form of butter, margarine, yogurt, cream and ice cream.

Egg is another food which affects allergy commonly around young children than the adults. Most of the times it was found that people have been allergenic to loosely cooked eggs. 

Gluten is also one of the main allergies, Gluten (from Latin gluten, "glue") is a mixture of proteins found in wheat and related grains, including barley, rye, oat, and all their species and hybrids (such as spelt, kamut, and triticale). Gluten gives elasticity to dough, helping it rise and keep its shape and often gives the final product a chewy texture.if you are allergic to gluten,you better be away from the gluten, normally if you are staying in hotels or eating in  restaurants, you might get those products to eat but if you know that you can avoid it at any cost.

Tourists often like having foods made of sea fish. Most of the restaurants would offer different types of extravagant meals which though could eventually cause food allergy to people. It is said that adults are likely to have food allergy off sea food in comparison to children. Sea food allergy could cause diarrhea, abdominal cramps, wheezing, rhinitis, and flushing, urticarial rashes.

 Q: How to prevent food allergies?

Well, one of the ways you can avoid food allergies is by knowing exactly what you eat. For instance one can double check the labels or menus before ordering the particular food. The consumers must also avoid the foods which have been found allergenic to them previously. They should also be aware of the food at restaurants.
