EEA Family Visa is for people who are in a civil partnership or got married with a European Union Citizen. If you get married or in a civil partnership with a European Union citizen, you can apply for EEA Family visa. You can apply for this visa while staying in United Kingdom but need to apply before entering the United Kingdom if you already are not in United Kingdom.
EEA family permits makes an easy entry to United Kingdom. With this visa, you can stay in United Kingdom for 6 months with multi – visit availability. Within these 6 months, couple is allowed to work in United Kingdom without any restrictions and it’s recommended that European Union citizen should apply for permanent resident and Non-European Union citizen should apply for five year family permit.
EEA Family visa requirements:
- European Union citizen must provide all the information regarding visa status, work information, study or business related information to immigration department
- Couple should be married or in a civil partnership with each other
- Couple should live together during the stay in United Kingdom
- Couple should be traveling to United Kingdom together or European Union Citizen should already be in United Kingdom
Non-European Citizen will be eligible to apply for permanent resident visa after completion of 5 years EEA family permit. Children or grandchildren of EEA Family permit holder under 21 years old and dependent parent or grandparents are also eligible to get visa under this category. Proof of civil partnership or marriage will be mandatory to file application for this EEA family visa.
